You don't have to gamble in Vegas to have a great time.  A couple of weeks ago, Linkjockey went to Las Vegas with some friends (remember the slow blog updates?).  We had a great time, and the Cheapo Vegas site was really helpful in planning for our trip to Los Vegas.

Cheapo Vegas has sortable comparison charts for hotels, restaurants , shows and attractions, and casinos.  The lists are thorough, and there are honest reviews of each of the features of every single major Las Vegas hotel, on the Las Vegas Strip, off the Strip, and old Downtown Vegas.  They also have their Best Value suggestions to help you figure out what is value for the price.

For what it's worth, we stayed at the Tropicana Hotel in the Paradise Tower (free upgrade), and had a very pleasant, inexpensive stay.
Highly recommended: The Mac King Show at Harrah's- Good afternoon magic show, with tickets for $8 cheap (aka free-with-drink) tickets from the desk in the casino.  Best value show in Vegas that we saw.  If you have any questions, drop me a line.
