We're going into the "way-back files" today with the KLF.

Not only were they a successful nineties pop-group, they were pretty convincing artistes.
For my money, their most successful output was the publication of their book about pop music, "The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way) " (download The Manual .pdf).

Today's pop stars only wish they could be as interesting.

Kitchen tools are expensive, right? In a great article in the Times by Mark Bittman, you find out how to get everything you need for less than $200.
Mark Bittman tells you which utensils, pots and pans are essential for your kitchen at home, and where you can buy them at an inexpensive price. Even though the chefs on TV have flashy, expensive tools, these are not what they use in their restaurants, and you don't need them to do be effective in the kitchen. You can also save by shopping in restaurant supply stores, rather than department stores and "cuisine" shops.

I absolutely love to cook and have plenty of professional cooking experience, but I wish I'd read this article when preparing the gift registry for my wedding.

Today's 2 blogs offer sensible tips for taking care of your money, in a way that's much more engaging than that Consumer Education class that you took in high school.

They have well-written entries about saving money, practical investing, and eliminating debt. Both sites are updated regularly, they have introductory articles to get you started on a sound footing. And no, they're not selling anything.

They post news, articles and interviews on related topics like saving, shopping, simplicity, frugality, entrepreneurship, customer service and personal development. They also post occasional reviews of books, magazines, and software, and scour the web for the latest personal finance tools and articles.

Some tips are more more relevant for Americans, because of tax laws, but there's lots of great, useful information for everyone else.
