Those delightful Spice Girls have reunited, and are touring the world spreading their cheerful sounds and nausea.
They have a few dates chosen, but are encouraging their fans to vote on cities for their world tour. The jovial pranksters of Fark are encouraging readers to vote for a Spice Girls show in Baghdad, and I would encourage you to do the same.


Why, oh why do the have to start the reunion tour in Vancouver? The horror.

There's always been that rumor that you can sync up Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album with the movie The Wizard of Oz, but I'd never bothered to try it.
With the help of YouTube and the internet, it's so much easier to experience this urban legend. Today's link is a YouTube Playlist that has seven different videos from the movie, and you can watch as images from the film appear to synchronise with the music and lyrics.

Unbelievable Video Footage of 747 Landings - Week of YouTube: Day 3

My grandfather was an airplane enthusiast, and passed along some of his passion to me. Maybe both of today's YouTube links will instill as much awe in you as they did for me.

1. An amazing Boeing 747 landing at Princess Juliana International Airport on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, captured from Maho Beach. The airport is famous for its short landing strip at only 2,180 meters.

2. A Boeing 747 landing at Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong, which was decommissioned in 1998.

Christopher Walken - Week of YouTube: Day 1

Why not feature a week of video clips from the mother of all video channels, Youtube?

Ever since I discovered him around the time of Pulp Fiction, I’ve had an affinity for Christopher Walken. First, our names are so similar; he’s Christopher Walken, I’m Christopher Walks. Secondly, he’s a really great actor with lots of unusual, juicy character roles. Thirdly, I found out that despite all the strange roles he’s played, Christopher Walken got his start in show biz as a trained dancer.

Apparently, in every film he’s in, Christopher Walken tries to incorporate a dance scene or some fancy footwork as a signature move. His dancing was profiled most recently in the Fatboy Slim video for “Weapon of Choice”.

From all of the Walken movies I’ve seen, this scene from the 1981 film Pennies from Heaven blows my mind, particularly the second half of the clip. Watch and be amazed.

This cat is absolutely furious!!!
I've never heard a cat screech and wail like that before, and it's pretty amazing that someone caught it on video and posted it to YouTube. Awesome.

SI Writers write about "The Best Game I've Ever Seen"

Sports Illustrated writers' "Best Game I've Ever Seen"

Sports Illustrated pulls off a great concept by asking all their writers to write about the "Best Game I've Ever Seen".

There are lots of entries, and a huge range of sports are covered. Of course, since there are sports writers at all of the major sporting events, all the most recent Greatest Sports Events are covered, like the 1987 Canada Cup hockey tournament, Buster Douglas over Mike Tyson in 1990, Tiger's first title in 1996, one of Michael Jordan's most famous playoff victories and Flutie's Hail Mary victory in 1984. For me, it's often the more obscure sports that make for the most interesting reads, such as Italy's Palio horse race, an Olympic tennis match in Athens, Olympic heavyweight boxing trials, 1995 cross-town rivalry in college hockey, and an NCAA college wrestling tournament.

The concept works, as the writers pour out their passion onto the page, and explain what makes the most famous, and not so famous, sports events so important to their lives and their careers.
